Drive-in Pallet Racking
While all of our pallet racking options seek to maximise the efficiency and capacity of your storage space, none is as effective as drive-in pallet racking. Depending on the nature of your business and stock, it may be possible to eliminate aisles completely – saving as much as 90% of the space of a traditional racking layout.
Instead of creating aisles between racks, drive-in pallet racking uses bays that retrieval vehicles can drive into. Using the last in, first out (LIFO) principle of storage, a large number of the same goods can be stored in a single bay, with the capacity for multiple levels above. The pallets are supported by front-to-back rails, and are pushed into and pulled out of the bays.
Drive-in pallet racking is ideal for the bulk storage of identical, non-perishable goods, where pallet density is preferred to stock selection or rotation. The ability to push pallets into position also makes it an ideal storage method for fragile or volatile goods, with a smooth range of motion and a host of safety accessories available.
MAXIMUM DENSITY STORAGE
Normally not requiring any specialised handling equipment, drive-in pallet racking offers excellent access to each panel load using traditional trucks. Key to the design of this system is the profiled pallet rails, which automatically centre each pallet to ensure that loads are always square to the pallet lanes. This ensures that the pallet is always presented correctly to the operator, promoting safe handling, ease of use and reducing risk of damage.
Drive-in pallet racking offers the highest density, most cost-effective storage of any pallet racking layout. While not suited to every business, drive-in pallet racking is also a flexible, modular format. Our complementary site visit and decades of design expertise will help to determine the best use of drive-in racking for your space, and tailor it to your space and needs.
